All levels of experience will benefit; from beginners who have never done yoga or meditated, to advanced practitioners looking to dedicate time to deepen your practice.

We have some mats, blankets, and cushions. If you have your own, please bring! Please dress comfortably for light stretching and sitting meditation, and bring bottled water. All levels welcome.

1:30- 1:45 Opening with theme of Peace, Nourishment and Self-Compassion, mindfulness and how to sit, meditation instruction, intro, Q and A

1:45-:2:15 Mindful Yoga

2:15-2:45 Guided Meditation Sit

2:45-3:00 Silent Break and Guided Rest

3:00-3:40 Talk on Self/Community Care, Peace and Compassion

3:40- 4:20 Rejoicing – Sharing struggles and victories in circle sharing

4:20-4:30 Close and Chant/Song/Dedication of practice


Susanna Bio

Susanna’s family lineage is from Assam, India, where an ancient line of teaching the traditions of Yoga and Ayurveda is practiced still today. Susanna integrates this lineage with the practical application of a Master’s degree in Education as well as a B.A. in Philosophy for U.C. Berkeley, Ayurvedic Wellness Certification, E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT yoga certifications to create a culturally aware and socially relevant practice. She’s honored to call Thich Nhat Hanh a root teacher and is a member of his Core Community of Interbeing. She’s passionate about decolonizing yoga and practicing it not just as poses but as a way of life. She shares yoga to be authentic, accessible and with the aim to benefit everyone. She is the founder of Ignite | Yoga and Wellness Institute in Orlando, Fl. Ignite provides comprehensive Yoga Alliance Certified 200 and 300 hour yoga teacher trainings and a Health Coach Certification. She is viral yoga and wellness blogger for Huffington Post, Yoga International and Elephant Journal, an advisory board member of Yoga Service Council, and a proud member of the Yoga and Body Image Coalition Team. Neelam Bio

Neelam Pathikonda grew up Hindu and has been practicing Buddhist meditation for the past 15 years. She is a certified Ayurvedic wellness coach as well as an osteopathic family medicine physician working at Kaiser Permanente in South LA. In addition, Neelam has a masters in public health and has worked as a community organizer and activist fighting for better environmental conditions for working class communities. Neelam approaches spirituality, meditation and yoga from the lens of liberation and justice as well as health and wellness. Most importantly, Neelam is a mother of a fierce two year old girl and expecting her second child in February.
